Architecture On the Built

Addition / conversion / extension / renovation

Architecture on an old pre-existing building makes a lot of sense.

  • It avoids loss of equity

  • Underutilized buildings are put to use

  • Value is created by creating new spaces

  • Comfort is gained with new materials and installations

  • Energy costs are saved.

There are a lot of advantages:

  • For the financing of the construction, the building itself can be used as collateral for the loan.

  • The building permit process in the municipalities is almost always quicker than for a new building.

  • In some cases, the work can be carried out while the tenants or owners are still living in the building.

  • In the case of an industrial, hotel, shopping mall or office building, business can continue with minimal restrictions.

Reuse is the basis of sustainability. By reusing the construction elements of an old building, you save materials and energy.

TAKE ADVANTAGE OF THE HIDDEN POTENTIAL OF YOUR BUILDING.

Adding Floors.

It is possible that new floors can be built on your building and it has an unexploited financial potential. To make new floors, wood construction is ideal. It is environmentally friendly, adds little weight to the pre-existing structure and takes just days to assemble.

Expansion

Expansions involve growing sideways instead of upwards. From smaller works such as garages, carports, and warehouses to new buildings attached to existing buildings. The study of the relationship between new and old is fundamental to achieve a perfect functioning and an appropriate architectural aesthetic.

Remodeling

Taking advantage of the structure and walls of the building, a house, an office building or an industrial building can be adapted to the new needs of the tenants and owners. Changes of use almost always require remodeling.

Renovation

The most important refurbishment today is energy refurbishment. Replacing windows, redesigning the facade, installing new insulation and a new heating system saves energy costs, increases comfort and avoids dangerous condensation in winter.

In all these cases the architect not only makes the project, but also coordinates the different specialists and makes the arrangements with the city council.
